Are you a Qualified Accountant in Practice with a portfolio of fast-paced consumer brands, looking for a client-facing role where you run outsourced finance for several companies within a portfolio of challenger businesses? Aila Recruitment is exclusively supporting a specialist fractional finance team in their search for a Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

 

About the Company:

• A fractional finance team supporting consumer brands across food & beverage and health & beauty, from Fractional FD advisory through to scalable, day-to-day finance support
• Clients span DTC, FMCG and omnichannel brands at every stage of growth, typically turning over £500k – £5m
• Fully remote, founder-led and built around helping challenger brands scale faster and smarter.

 

The Role:

Reporting to the Founder, you’ll lead finance across a portfolio of clients, owning month-end close, management reporting, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting for each one. You’ll be the primary day-to-day finance contact for each client’s leadership team, while supporting the Founder on board-level strategy, investor readiness and commercial decisions.

 

It’s a hands-on role, supported by a part-time Assistant Management Accountant and a team of bookkeepers, so you’ll be coaching as well as doing. You’ll suit this if you enjoy variety, like being close to founders and genuinely want your numbers to drive decisions rather than just report on them.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the full month-end close across multiple clients, including journals, reconciliations, balance sheet schedules and variance analysis
• Produce tailored monthly management accounts packs with commentary and KPI dashboards
• Lead budgeting, reforecasting and scenario planning, building and iterating the models behind them
• Analyse performance by sales channel, customer and SKU, and partner with client sales, supply chain, marketing and ecommerce teams on pricing, promotions and working capital
• Deliver weekly sales reporting, cash flow forecasts and ad hoc analysis to client leadership teams
• Support investor reporting, board packs and due diligence alongside the Founder
• Strengthen internal controls and keep reporting consistent across the portfolio
• Coach and mentor the bookkeeping and management accounting team
• Drive process improvement and automation across Xero, inventory tools, banks and reporting software

 

The Ideal Candidate:

• ACA or ACCA qualified with 3+ years’ post-qualification experience, within a practice or portfolio environment
• Experience working with consumer brands, FMCG, eCommerce or a stock environment
• A proven track record of building models, budgets and forecasts that drive real business decisions
• Confident managing multiple stakeholders, clients and priorities at once
• Hands-on and resourceful, comfortable moving between strategic and operational finance
• A strong communicator who can tell the financial story and challenge assumptions
• Thrives in founder-led, high-growth environments
