Senior Management Accountant
£65,000 – £70,000 pro rata (9-month FTC)
Are you a Qualified Accountant with excellent month-end management accounting skills, and strong process improvement skills? We are partnered with an international services business that wants to hire a Senior Management Accountant who can hit the ground running in a fairly traditional month end capacity, with an opportunity to document, process and support in some change management work to make things more efficient and smoother in their close process.

The role:
This is an exciting opportunity for somebody looking to join a multi-site and international business. Having grown internationally and reached £100m+ revenue with strong EBITDA, the Finance Director is now looking to enhance the way they report in finance through improving processes, automating basic tasks and utilising AI and reporting tools to add value to the business. this Senior Management Accountant will operate in a business as usual capacity, with the future projects an area they can get involved in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
- Produce, analyse, and verify gross margin and commission reports
- Prepare VAT returns and other statutory reports in line with regulatory requirements
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis
- Identify opportunities to automate manual and repetitive tasks, improving accuracy, efficiency, and auditability.
- Reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets and improve data flows between finance systems
- Continuously improving reporting and transparency using PowerBI and AI
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports to the leadership team and business units
- Develop and provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Support non-financial managers in understanding cost drivers, variances, and the financial impact of operational decisions
- Establish, foster, and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to gather insights, explain financial performance, and support informed decision making
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with 2-3 years + PQE
- Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience documenting and embedding new processes in a growing or changing organisation
- Finance transformation, ERP upgrade, or system implementation exposure
The Package & Benefits:
- Salary: £65,000 – £70,000
- Hybrid working (3 in, 2 out)
